Audiometric Testing
Audiometric testing is the evaluation of an individual’s ability to hear. HSE’s audiometric testing units are mobile, totally self-contained and staffed by certified audiometric technicians.
HSE suggests testing each employee’s hearing upon hiring so that the initial results can be compared with future results to determine if any hearing loss has occurred due to workplace decibel levels. Baseline testing should be performed in the first year of employment, ideally within six months. Testing should be done again the second year, and then every two years. If there is a high turnover of employees, it is recommended that employers conduct testing annually.
HSE also provides complete hearing conservation programs to ensure compliance with legislative requirements designed to protect employees from noise-induced hearing loss. We offer individual testing scheduled at each employee’s convenience.
