Confined Space Entry Level 2

This course is designed to teach employers and employees about hazards associated with confined spaces, and safe work procedures to follow when working in such conditions. The program includes both theory and practical-based training.

The theory portion of the program includes:

  • Duties of a confined space tending worker (safety watch or monitor)
  • Use of electronic gas detectors
  • Identifying required personal protective and rescue equipment
  • Use of respiratory protective equipment
  • Use of rescue equipment
  • Requirements of a confined space entry permit
  • Preparing personnel for confined space entries
  • Emergency response planning

 

The practical exercises may include:

  • SCBA and SABA breathing apparatus training
  • Pre-entry atmospheric testing
  • Pre-entry safety meeting including entry permit
  • Vertical and horizontal entry techniques practiced without breathing apparatus
  • Vertical and horizontal entry techniques practiced while wearing breathing apparatus

Certification:              HSE certificate
Expiry:                        3 years
