Driver Training–Advanced (SkidCar)
The SkidCar System represents a proven concept in driver training, described by its developers as “the science of controlled driving”. This program is based on the concept that the driver subjects the vehicle to physical forces, and that it is the driver’s ability to make sound judgments that minimizes risk and maximizes personal performance behind the wheel. The program teaches that by using proper sensory skills and applying correct driving strategies, a driver can learn to control the forces that elevate risk. Better yet, a driver can learn to avoid high-risk situations altogether.
The one-day program includes classroom and practical time.
The objectives and outcomes for this course are to:
- Develop the fundamentals of proactive driving
- Develop basic insight into situations as a driver
- Develop the basic skills needed to maintain vehicle control
Prerequisite: Valid driver’s license
Duration: 7 hours
Participation: Minimum 8; maximum 20
Certification: HSE certificate
Expiry: 3 years
