Due Diligence

This course is designed to give participants an awareness of what constitutes the standard of due diligence as it relates to health and safety in the workplace.

The objectives and outcomes for this course are to:

  • Understand of the requirements for a “due diligence defense”
  • Understand the definition of “competency” as it relates to the worker and supervisor
  • Understand the definition “reasonably practical” in a workplace safety context
  • Understand the concept of “hazard identification” and the role that this plays in due diligence
  • Acquaint participants with the potential penalties relating to failure to establish due diligence with respect to safety in the workplace
