First Aid–Emergency with CPR (Alberta)

This course will train participants in emergency level of first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and includes theory and practice of various treatments and methods.

The objectives and outcomes for this course are:

  • To train each student to the standard level of first aid or to the desired CPR level
  • Give participants the knowledge and skills to recognize when first aid is needed
  • Give participants the confidence to render first aid at an emergency scene
  • Help participants recognize when more qualified help or medical help is required

 

Prerequisite:              None
Duration:                    8 hours
Participation:             Maximum number of students varies depending on program
Certification:              Canadian Red Cross or St. John Ambulance
NOTE:                         This course may be combined with WorkSafeBC courses to acquire certifications for both provinces
