Respiratory Protection
Industrial workers are often called upon to work in dangerous atmospheres with exposure to chemicals and toxic gases in confined spaces and immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) environments. Workers can protect themselves from these dangers in two ways: through knowledge gained from training and with proper respiratory protection equipment. This course is designed to provide participants with information and practical skills for the effective use, care and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
The objectives and outcomes for this course are:
- To identify the need for respiratory protection
- To identify different types of respiratory equipment
- To explain the differences among types of respiratory equipment
- To provide workers with information and practical skills required for proper use, care and maintenance of respiratory equipment
