Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

TDG is a nationally recognized information system that familiarizes shippers, receivers and carriers with dangerous goods, and teaches them to protect the public and the environment through safe practices for handling such goods. Many hazardous products in the petrochemical industry are classified as dangerous goods, and their movement among production locations, storage facilities, points of sale, and points of use fall under TDG regulations. To prevent incidents and ensure the safety of the environment and the populace, these products must be identified, labeled and handled as dangerous goods.

This course is designed to familiarize participants with legislation, the nine classifications and general requirements related to the transporting of dangerous goods. Also covered are packaging requirements, safety precautions, vehicle markings and required documentation.
